What’s Violet up to now?

The queen of Neighbourly interviews has a lot to scribble down. Wonder if she learned snel skrif from a book.

This is one ugly sim. But he’s rich. The rich always have something to hide right?

I think Conner is a work colleague… I forget. He IS spending the night though. Hope he’s a neat sim so he can tidy the place a bit.

Good mood leads to asing for a raise again.

Up up and up. violet’s career is thriving! Just like her garden.

Fireind are just to eagre to see their name in print. Hope they don’t mind her dishing out the dirt too! On a side note – the green sim Is Fiona, and that’s where the resemblance to the Shrek character ends. I wanted to se how the other shades of skin handle breeding.

Another one of those star oppertunities: Violet has to write a biography of Adam Slammer. Don’t know what makes him so inportant… he’s unemployed. And one of my own created sims.

Even trashy novels can besome bestsellers. Love the imagery that this balloon popped up as she on the loo.

Behold he who is CyclOn3. I’ve avoided breeding him into my games cause so many other legacies have… but guess what – I want his genes in my game, just for the heck of it. And they happen to be work colleagues.

Busy bisy busy writing away. Violet almost has no time for socialising, what with still needing to sleep, eat and shower. And she couln’t cash in on that bouquest of flowers either.

Her Birthday already!? An Cycl0n3 has the Inappropriate trait. Fun if it’s a control sim. Just annoynig when it’s non active one. That’s why he’s giggling at Violet’s cake… or her shoes… or both.

What adventure awaits Violet next? Will she ever find a companion? Will this legacy have an heir?

I don’t know, and if violet does, she isn’t telling.

After my Redfern legacy saved game completely died on me, I started a new one. Tucker Legacy!

Meet Violet Tucker! Nothing Random about this sim. I chose absolutely everything for her, but the heirs will all be random roll-of-the-dice offspring. I haven’t played the Journo field yet, so I made it her LTW.

Violet moved into a modest little starter home. Reminds me of the trailers from Sims 2. You know, the one Brandi Broke lived in? Gotta love the touch of French with the red window and door frames. I moved the house from the original lot to up the hill where there are {were} a lot of empty lots. I moved my own sims from other games in as neighbours. And so it begins!

After a whole day of reading cookbooks, the welcome wagon rocks up. I love autumn salad cause it doesn’t burn.

Didn’t have to search too long to find the right job. Violet found it in the paper… as a ?Papergirl? I though they were all teens!

My rule of thumb since waaaay back when I started playing Sims 1, I always tried to get them the most comfortable bed that they could afford; saves time on sleeping. I kept the butt-ugly fabric from the original bed.

She truly is the papergirl! Gotta start somewhere right; but does it really have to be the bottom of the bottom.

Oh how I lol’ed. Ever so slightly different from the Sims 2 frame-it pose. Violet hun, you’re not going to be a photo journalist… maybe it’s from her Artistic trait.

No Legacy will be a legacy without a spouse… or at least someone to her create heirs. JJ looked good in uniform… but that’s where it stopped. I think magicians work at the theatre and are NPCs like the fire-fighter and maid.

Little tip I learned from my other games, happy sims with long lasting moodlets get promotions faster. So I’ll try to get Violet cheap spa treatments so that she can sail through her career.

Oh Snap! Tamara Donner got her hair band from the same shop. Awkward gym moment too when Violet struggled with the circuit.

So she’s starting out slow with a tv workout. And wouldn’t you know it, that snapper Tamara is joining her with her legwarmers.

I saw the balloon come up that Violet came off work, but I didn’t see her in front of the building. So I zoomed on her icon and had exited at the back. There she was, studying away.

Violet tends to be late for work a lot. Mostly it’s my fault cause she stays FAR away; and I have her do some moodlet booster actions before work. I have her brush her teeth and gussy up. Then these minty fresh and attractive moodlets ups their mood – sometimes enough for a raise or promotion.

Ta daaa! Told you it works. But Automated Spell Checker? Realy? Who comes up with these jobs!?

Speaking of jobs, that’s Violet’s boss sneaking in the dark. I followed her (but forgot to take a pic it seems). Think boss lady has Evil trait cause she was scaring another sim.

Violet pops around to meet some neighbours only to find half of her welcome wagon already there… and it’s not going so well.

At Jodi’s house (I had Emperor of Evil and Leader of the Free World fall in love in another game that I imported them from) the welcome wagon was under attack. {I modelled their house on the cutest little cottage a friend of mine once lived in.

Extra mural activities also make Violet late for work. Money doesn’t grow on trees in Sims 3 you know. And Violet is picking up loads of gardening skill from raiding fruit and veg from other gardens and parks.

I think Grady is a maid – always good to have a neat sim in the house. And he’s single too!

GoGo Violet! Asking for a raise AND getting it!

She was due for a promotion anyway. She had to stay late (one of those extra little goals to achieve that pop up occasionally). She didn’t get any money, just the Staffer of the week award.

I find this uniform hilarious. Leader of the Free world has a leopard print shirt. Violet does her first interview. (I’m starting to like this Journalism career!)

Freelance writer has such a cool uniform! Fedora and all.

I was trying to figure out how this whole Stories and Reviews bar worked. I thought you only had to interview sims and she’ll write the stories at work.

Needless, she got the promotion quick quick. Professional Blogger pays a lot!

I really REALLY love the whole laptop concept that they brought in with Sims 3. Now Violet can take her work with her. Few spare minutes on the beach? Write a review! Waiting to meet a friend in the park? Check out other bloggers!

Aaaah… light bulb moment: THAT’s how you get to review a movie. Same goes for restaurants. She has different menu options as a Journo.

And as all journo’s worth their tarnished plated gold knows, the best stories are from other sims’ trash. Violet is trying to dig up sme dirt on Jodi. She doesn’t trust that sim one bit.

The bin was squeaky clean, so good old interview methods are in order. Or at least that the excuse she used when Jodi caught her harvesting her tomatoes.

So 2 lessons learned: Backup! and don’t attempt a cemetary again. Use the regular in-game one.

So of course I started a new legacy family: The Tucker family! I have to complete at least 1 legacy. urg.

IRL I’m besotted with wall vinyl decals. So I made some for my sims too.

Her urn has some nice gold leaf, but I put it in the garden – me course hurriedly built a family cemetery. Think I’ll convert another plot as the family grave yard.

This is sort ofta gaming milestone for me. See, I don’t like it when my Sims die, so I’ve never played past the third generation. Can only get easier now.

Now I just have to get a doctor’s appointment to prove him wrong.

Last time we left the Redferns: Shelley embraced elderhood a la EAugly, and there was a lot of painting and births going on. One death… but she wasn’t family. Patricia still kicking it!

Shelly was starting to get cabin fever from all the nappy changing and burping and needing to play chess; reckon she would enjoy the theatre – she was too late for the show, but toured it anyway. And as it should be, was fascinated by cobwebs, dust and discarded coffee cups.

Doting Grand Ma-ma Patricia zirrs some leftover (possible) ratatouille for Portia… uhm, I missed taking snaps of her birthday But that’s her there in the background – and I didn’t change her hair.

Shelley needed a makeover. I try and dress sims in their fav colour whenever I can – or remember what it actually is. The babies’ fav colours are all shades of pink. S’true

Cliché: Patrick is more intersted in his waffles than the fact that his wife trashed her house coat.

Not wanting Patricia to be stuck watching the babies again, and Patrick and Shelly needing to work on some wishes and teach Portia a thing or two, I let them hire a babysitter. I want to know about his perks though; check out the car he’s driving – unless it’s his parents’. I expected a bicycle at most.

Patrick at the gym – READING?! But he had a wish to work out?

I forgot Shelley was a luck magnet . Teaching Portia about love lost.

While tending to some nappies or going to the loo or burning food,  Shelley left the babysitter in charge… and he looses Portia.

Shelley managed to sneak away to catch a play at the theatre. Dunno what the déjà vu is all about. Didn’t see anything familiar – maybe it’s an in-game-programmer joke.

They still got it!

Patricia creates a Briliant painting; and she money flows in.

Hey Petro, it’s your birthday! Funny that only her parents are excited – metaphor for real life that is.

Aunt Marlene is keeping an eye on the Damien lookalike.

Meet Petro Redfern. This is random game spawned outfit. I left her hair as-is, but gave her some new clothes. The game wouldn’t let me choose a trait this time. I think this is perhaps where the hidden trait comes in. Mom Shelley used to be a fire(wo)man after all.

Portia learns to colour inside the lines. Think Patricia would have been a better tutor than Shelley. At least mom and daughter share some bonding time.

Milestone time. Hopefully all the kids will be wakling, talking and potty trained before their next birthdays.

Patricia had a task to deliver a Medium painting to Norma Crist – Norma is also the maid – And I’m seriously pondering the source of these game paintings.

Finally we have multitasking {ever so slightly} in a sims game!

Shelley has to teach a logic class cause she had über logic skill. Made her dress the part too.

Remember littla Sha Sha Bachelor – Bella’s little girl – she’s filling out.

And it’s time for Pedro to join the other toddlers. Yup, still only the parents showing excitement, the others are only there for food.

No sleeping in this house. The toddlers are all rested and ready to play. (The toys are in the living room at ensure direct access to screaming children in cots)

No rest for the wicked – in this case the happy couple. Watch as the milestones rush past.

This time I won’t let another sims fix the stereo, so Patricia might actually achieve it this time.

After years many days of being a single parent, Patricia wishes to move in with her long time love, Boyd. Sorry hun, Legacy rules say you have to stay in this house – and last time Boyd moved in he brought his 3 kids with him… that he forgot to mention. So NO.

And before someone stones me for nomenclature – I will change the generation number when the kids reach teen-dumb. {*crickets chirping*}

Last time we left the Redferns, Patrick and Shelly got married and immediately started working on producing the next heir.

I sent Shelly for some female bonding at her sister-in-law’s. And look, she’s nauseous…probably pregnant.

Cool how they made the game recognise family ties.

And then this happens. Shelly gets handy in the bathroom, and they want to kick her out. *sigh*

I couldn’t help it. She was hungry and she only had garlic in her backpack… and only after I remembered that I could have slipped her an apple from Patricia’s pack. Still a funny moodlet though

Shelley is Pregnant! On the first go. And Patrick wants to read a pregnancy book. But first he has to make some money by writing a best seller – perhaps his first?

This is why I love Patricia. She’s about to be a granny but still plays Need for Speed! Or GTA…or some racing game or other.

I’m really impressed by the amount of different paintings they put in this game. I read somewhere that it depends on the sims’ mood and favourite colour and personality what they will paint. Neeto!

Patricia is the Super Matriarch. She will grow food!

I can’t get the hang of these pregnancy cravings. Sims get them, but I can’t make it happen…. maybe it’s cause it was leftover spaghetti. Next time I’ll get them to make it fresh.

Kinda disturbing that Patrick has these options when he and Shelly appear to be happily married… and very pregnant.

Patrick: “The baby’s coming! The baby’s coming! THE BABY’S COMING!!

Shelley: “This isn’t so bad. Relax hun, I’ll have the baby right here”

Shelly: “Epidural – NOW!”

Randomiser and I get to choose Artistic trait to continue through all generations. And I wasn’t original with the name, so it’s all ‘P’.

This is where I remember that I got Shelley the multiples … thingy … that thingy that you buy with aspirations points – LifeTime Happiness Reward!

Did I mention they had TWINS! And how cool is it that Patrick is holding the one when they get out of hospital. Wonder who holds the third one if they are triplets. Knowing the game, it’ll be waiting on the sidewalk for mommy to hurry back and fetch, and by then the social services would take the first two that are at home all by themselves.

Who knew Patricia was a family sim She wants 5 grandchildren… and she only has one son. Get making more babies! But explain that other wish though: She wants to see Patrick get married; He DID get married! To Shelley.

If you want more babies, you need more money. With only §191 left, the redfern Artists need to get creative.

As from this post, I get my sims to visit friends when the game prompts that Death is on his way. I’m bad at remembering Sims’ names… sometimes even ones I play! So I can’t even attempt to pay respects to the recently addition to the spectre-sphere. I know there is an option to have a funeral ‘party’- think EA meant a wake. Will see if I can get it to work somewhere in this legacy.

Patrick, the good son, will comfort his Mamma.

Patricia is all cheered up and Shelley is happy to share the news of *gasp* another pregnancy. I sent Shelley for a massage since her back hurt so much. Then she started spawning all these facial wishes too, so she made a day of it.

Granny Patricia will buy you lots of red sneakers little one!

Shelley didn’t waste time considering a home birth. Soon as the pains kicked in, she hopped in a cab to the hospital leaving Patrick to look after the twins.

I don’t know if I should be disturbed by the Sim rendition of Botticelli’s Birth of Venus. Then again they did simmify Andy Warhol’s pop art as well a lot of other artists in previous Sims titles.

Needless, this painting is going in the bathroom.

Single baby boy born, Pedro. (I forgot to snap the traits, but he’s artistic too) And it’s also Shelley’s Birthday! Hence the flock of  *ach no, crying baby need my attention now* sims piling into the nursery. Had to move the other furniture to accommodate all the offspring.

Am loving how bright Patrick’s paitings are. Anyone know if this one is reference to something similar IRL?

I had to put in another door in the nursery leading to outside. The room got so cramped and congested with everyone wanting to hold the babies. Since it’s cake-cutting time, Patrick is stuck changing diapers.

Happy Birthday Shelley! Had your babies just in time too.  Patrick isn’t even an adult yet, and his wife just turned elder.

Quite the cougar. Now just to sort out her wardrobe.
